RDA Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) provides a number of services to help our regional stakeholders prepare a strong economic argument in their applications for funding.

1. Initiatives

Certain funding programmes may advise applicants  to seek a letter of support from their RDA. Circular Economy

Circular Economy

Circular economy is about decoupling economic growth from virgin resource use. Circular design of products, services and systems keep resources in the market longer, enabling sharing and reuse business models to become business as usual.” Circular Australia.

In 2022 RDAMNC has set out to discover what the circular economy means to the MNC. We are exploring potential opportunities, identifying resource gaps and bringing together stakeholders to better enable collaboration (Shak, can you please include in initiatives placeholders for the following projects:

2. Research

RDAMNC has driven research in the Mid North Coast in recent years in the area of housing for key workers. We also subscribe to a data package provided by Data.au which enables up to date insights on matters pertinent to housing across the region. 3. Advocacy

RDAMNC is a voice for the Mid North Coast on key issues related to our regional economy. In 2022-23 are gaining a better understanding of how circular economy activities can contribute to our economy through the development of new jobs and skills, and enabling local production to meet regional supply chain gaps.   • Apprenticeship Support Australia in NSW support for business owners to engage and sustain the employment of an apprentice. 
  • Employer Incentives for Australian apprenticeships information on a range of employer incentives for Australia apprenticeships. 
  • Indigenous Employment: hiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff 
  • JobActive: an Australian Government-funded network of organisations that are contracted by the Australian Government, through the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, to deliver employment services to unemployed job seekers on Government income support payments and employers.

Regional Skill shortages are firmly on RDAMNC’s Radar in 2022. We are working with a range of stakeholders to enable stronger opportunities for the alleviation of skill (and people gaps) through the following initiatives:

b. My Future Workforce: A free to use jobs board, resume builder and skill tracker (thumbnail with link through to My Future Workforce
c. Workforce toolkit: (placeholder, here we’ll link to individual blog posts about recent trials and initiatives. This will demonstrate a variety of ways that we work).

  • Skilled Migration Program: Business, Industry and Regional Outreach officers, located across Australia to provide general information on Australia’s regional and Skilled Migration

Our Spaces launch

RDA Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) provides a number of services to help our regional stakeholders prepare a strong economic argument in their applications for funding.
  • RDAMNC will launch a short film called Our Spaces on 25 August at Majestic Cinemas in Port Macquarie.

    The short film explores alternative ways of living aims to help people in the Mid North Coast to start thinking about our homes differently.

    With over 81,000 bedrooms currently vacant in homes across the Mid North Coast this is the quickest and easiest way that everyday people can assist to alleviate the housing crisis, particularly among key workers.

RDAMNC calling for Board Member applications

RDA Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) provides a number of services to help our regional stakeholders prepare a strong economic argument in their applications for funding.
  • Are you looking for a way to contribute to your region? Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) is seeking committed leaders to apply to join one of two vacancies on their Board.

    RDAMNC is seeking regional leaders with vision, drive and business, government or community experience who can help to facilitate economic development opportunities and investment for our regional communities and create jobs and growth.

    Applications are being sought from business and community leaders who have a proven track record of achieving meaningful outcomes in a complex environment.

    “Regional Australia is poised for a period of growth and renewal following natural disasters and the pandemic, with Government rightly focussing on our regions, making this a wonderful time to be involved in an organisation like Regional Development Australia as it seeks to help shape the future prosperity of regional Australia,” said Kieren Dell, Chair of RDAMNC.

    Appointed to the position of Chair of the organisation in January 2021, Kieren has extensive experience in business, including 19 years founding and running his own business, Majestic Cinemas, which was founded in Nambucca Heads in 2002, has operated in Port Macquarie since 2006 and has 6 other sites. Kieren also has over 36 years’ experience in financial services at senior and CEO level, including running 2 industry bodies.

    “I look forward to a range of leaders across business and the community and across the entire breadth of the Mid North Coast putting forth their names to join the Board and volunteer their expertise and time to assist RDA, and in so doing advance the economic development of the region and, most importantly, enhance the lives of the people of this amazing place we live in,” he said

    The Boards of the national RDA network are made up of local volunteers giving their time and energy to develop local solutions to local issues. They work with industry, communities, and all levels of government to improve liveability in their designated regions.

    RDAMNC is part of a national network of 52 Regional Development Australia committees across Australia and has a charter to drive innovation, growth, and development in the Mid North Coast Region through the facilitation of regional projects, collaboration, communication, and advocacy.

    Applications are now open – applicants can apply for a position as an RDAMNC Board member, with appointments being for an initial 12 month term.
