Charlie Arnott – Incubator Mentor 2020

Charlie is an award-winning Regenerative Grazier, advocate and educator from Boorowa, New South Wales, Australia.

Charlie runs grass-fed Shorthorn Cattle, lamb and pork on his 5,000 hectare property “Hanaminno”, using organic, biodynamic and regenerative grazing principles.

Charlie has won several agricultural industry awards for leadership, resource management and conservation. Through education and shared experiences Charlie hopes to inspire fellow producers and farmers to adopt regenerative practices – creating a sustainable future of balance, health and abundance for Australian agriculture.

Where did you grow up?

Boorowa, NSW on a mixed enterprise family farm

Given the choice between living in the city or country which would you choose and why? Country, being in Nature is essential to my health, wellbeing and sanity….

Describe your area of expertise?

Connector, facilitator, entrepreneur, strategist and communicator in the regenerative agriculture space

What are you looking forward to most about participating in the Norfolk Island Incubator Programme? Helping participants find the answers to their questions, big or small, be a sounding board, help dismantle mental and business development hurdles, connect them to a network of like minded people, and sharing their challenges and wins.

What wisdom or knowledge do you hope to share with the participants?

Principles and practical regenerative farming methods and help change the paddock between the ears too……..

What is the greatest hurdle you have had to overcome in your career and how did you do it?

Moving from a conventional farming mind set to a new regenerative framework to be a farmer. I did it by asking myself and others better questions.

If you could solve one problem or issue what would it be?

Human health decline due to the consumption of crap food and negative thinking

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t worry about what other people think

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?

Aldo Leopold, his perspective on life and Nature and our place in it is fascinating.

Life not about having then doing then being, its about being to then do to then have…..
