Andrew Campbell, Chief Entrepreneur Officer of Port Macquarie based On Ramp Australia is one of the volunteer mentors assisting participants of the Norfolk Island Tourism Incubator program.
Andrew’s diverse background spans 4.5-5 star hotel management, farming, agri-tourism and business coaching. Andrew is also a licensed business broker and coach and a qualified Vet.
While Andrew has worked as a fulltime business coach and mentor, focusing on tourism, hospitality and agritourism businesses over the past 3 years, he is not afraid of getting his hands dirty running a farm for 13 years prior to this.
‘Honeycomb Valley Farm’ based in the Mid North Coast of NSW was owned by Andrew and his wife until a recent sale. The business focused on education and experiences in an attempt to bridge the gap between ‘paddock to plate’ production.
The farm enjoyed over 30,000 visitors a year, with a large farm gate shop, petting farm, farm tours, beekeeping courses, a native bee sanctuary and a very busy 4 star rated farmstay, which slept over 30 people a night.
“Our marketing was primarily focussed on families and children, because we believe that they are the key to the future of food production and farming.” said Andrew.
The business also won regional, state and national tourism awards, three years’ running, which put us in the hall of fame and unable to continue entering the tourism awards.
Andrew has been a judge in the NSW Tourism Awards for the past 5 years. He says that he enjoys giving back to the industry, so it was a natural progression to become a judge.
While qualified as a vet Andrew has never practiced professionally in this vocation. This he says is a long campfire story.
